A warm welcome to the world is one way we can show love and give confidence to our next generations.  

When you are growing up it is so important to have people around you who can help lead the way, support your aspirations, look out for you and include in their thoughts. A naming is the start of that relationship, it is the foundation on which a young life can rest, it is an introduction to their wider family and friends.

Your ceremony gives the Guide parents, guardians, oddparents, sparents – however you want to call them – the chance to speak out about their commitment and intentions for your child and to become the special people in their future.

This is a time for your child and their siblings to take centre stage in whatever ways feels good you for and for them – from just eating the cake to helping plant a commemorative tree!
